It’s that time of the year, everyone!

Halloween month has already begun, and the usual 31 Nights of Horror Movies-challenge with it! If you want to follow along, check out the list below and follow me on Instagram, where I’ll be posting instant reactions as soon as I finish each movie.

This year I won’t do the daily review, but probably will do a recap post at the end of the week talking a little bit about each movie.

31 Nights of Horror Movies — 2019 Selection

For this year’s edition, I wanted to take the chance to get acquainted with a filmography I’m not quite familiar with: Asian horror. Last year I watched the original The Ring and was blown away by it, so I knew I wanted to dive deeper into that pool.

I checked out several lists with recommendations and managed to gather 31 very interesting titles.

Here is this year’s selection of 31 Asian Horror Movies*:

  • Ugetsu (1953)
  • Kwaidan (1964)
  • Hausu (1977)
  • Cure (1997)
  • Audition (1999)
  • Uzumaki (2000)
  • Kairo (2001)
  • Dark Water (2002)
  • Ju-On (2002)
  • A tale of two sisters (2002)
  • The Eye (2002)
  • One missed call (2003)
  • Shutter (2004)
  • Dumplings (2004)
  • Premonition (2004)
  • Marebito (2004)
  • Noroi (2005)
  • Bloody Reunion (2006)
  • Retribution (2006)
  • The Host (2006)
  • Alone (2007)
  • 4BIA (2008)
  • Thirst (2009)
  • Confessions (2010)
  • Ladda Land (2011)
  • Monsterz (2014)
  • Tag (2015)
  • The Wailing (2016)
  • The Promise (2017)
  • Yurigokoro (2017)
  • Eerie (2019)

Here’s the Instagram / Facebook story in case you want to share it:

* About the watching order: if you decide to watch along, keep in mind you can see the films however you like! I personally don’t do it chronologically. To keep things interesting, I choose 7 films randomly at the start of each week, and simply watch those in whatever order they pop-up. :)
